Successful completion of an ABC school plus required hours in the field may lead to a Certified Addiction Counselor (CAC) certificate, allowing graduates to work as professional counselors.
Prerequisites for ABC (Addiction Behavior Counseling) Schools :
- Attend a discipleship training school (DTS), or Crossroads discipleship training school (CDTS)
- Attend a basic counseling school such as Foundations for Counseling Ministry School (FCM), Introduction to Biblical Counseling (IBC), Community Counseling School (CCS), or Family Ministry School (FMS) https://uofn.edu/colleges/counseling-healthcare#courses
- Previous experience with clinical counseling supervision
- Application to an ABCS including required outreaches
